Prof Datuk Dr Paul Chan

Professor Datuk Dr Paul Chan is widely recognized as an innovative pioneer in private tertiary education. With his wife, Datin Chan-Low Kam Yoke, he initiated the HELP Education Group in 1986 with a borrowed capital of USD5,000 and subsequently grew it to become a widely respected educational institution both in Malaysia and abroad. In 2012, he received numerous awards, including the Datukship from the Agong in recognition for his contribution to providing quality education to Malaysians. Recognising his professional and entrepreneurial expertise and experience he has been invited to Boards and Committees of important institutions in Australia, China and Malaysia. Dr. Chan has an extensive and valuable network that includes key influences in the political, business, academic and professional arenas. As a key opinion leader, he speaks in international conferences and writes in major medias in China and Malaysia.

(Group Finance Director)

Currently the Group Finance Director of CLH, TC became a chartered accountant in the Australia & New Zealand Society of Accountants and is also a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He is also a certified Financial Planner. TC has an extensive background starting his career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in New Zealand before joining Structon Group. He subsequently joined Lada New Zealand Limited, a subsidiary of the New Zealand Dairy Board as its Financial Controller. TC returned to Malaysia in and joined the MBF Group ultimately becoming Senior Manager of finance at MBF Leasing Sdn Bhd. He then joined AIG Global Services Sdn Bhd as CFO in 2000 and was promoted to Asia Regional Operation & System Controller in 2007. TC then joined Masterskill Education Group Bhd as its CFO in 2009 and was a key person in the successful IPO of MEGB.

Dr Goh Chee Leong
(CEO of Tertiary)

Dr Goh is the CEO Tertiary for the group. He previously served as the Group CEO of XCL Education Malaysia which in 2019 was valued at 860 million ringgit, and owned 4 leading K12 education brands, Sri KDU, REAL Kids, REAL Schools and Cambridge English for Life. He obtained his PhD in Psychology from the University of Otago, in New Zealand, where he was conferred the Otago Postgraduate Award. He has served as the project leader for 8 UNICEF projects and was a member of the Ministry of Health’s National Disaster Taskforce for Mental Health. He has served as an external consultant and trainer with Shell, Ogilvy and Mather, Petronas, Maxis, MISC, CIMB, Public Mutual, Prudential, Standard Chartered Bank, Digi, Great Eastern, Kraft, Sime Darby, Bank Negara, Prudential, Hitachi, Mimos, Toyota and BASF. His areas of specialization include the application of psychology to change management, talent management and leadership.

Dr Gerard Louis
(CEO of K12)

Dr. Gerard has been with the HELP Education Group for the last 22 years. He is both a professional educator and Counseling Psychologist and has been involved in these fields for over 30 years. He has spent almost 20 years in educational leadership from K-12 to tertiary levels. He is currently the CEO of the HELP Education Services and oversees the management of the three international schools owned by the group. He is also the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Wellbeing) for HELP University.

Mark Lee
(Executive Vice President)

Mark leads strategic and business planning for the HELP Group. He brings more than 20 years of experience in strategic management, financial policymaking, international relations, as well as corporate finance and assurance services. Prior to joining HELP, Mark was Head of Strategic Planning and International at the Malaysia Deposit Insurance Corporation, responsible for the corporate planning, international, stakeholder engagement, and research portfolios. He also held leadership roles internationally as Chairperson of the Asia Pacific Research Committee of the International Association of Deposit Insurers. Mark’s experience includes working in a think tank to advance sustainable development as Senior Fellow of the Jeffrey Sachs Center on Sustainable Development at Sunway University. In addition, during his time in Bank Negara Malaysia and the Securities Commission, he was involved in strategic planning, organizational and industry transformation, international relations, banking supervision, financial sector development, and the regulation of capital markets via assessing corporate finance proposals by Malaysian public listed companies. Mark began his career in Ernst & Young, providing transaction advisory services for IPOs, M&As, financial due diligence, valuation, and assurance engagements across a wide- range of industries.
